Affiliations

In order to meet the special needs of its members various affiliated organizations have been formed within the general membership.

STOCKTON BUDDHIST WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION:
This organization, whose beginning goes back to when our Temple was first established, has been the mainstay of our Temple activities, involving itself in religious and social programs, as well as fund raising events. Its members also sponsor trips and participate in the greater Stockton community activities.

ADULT BUDDHIST ASSOCIATION:
Activities for this organization include religious programs, Dharm a Schoolteachers support, social activities, participate and help with Temple activities.

YOUNG ADULT BUDDHIST ASSOCIATION:
This group consists of those members who have moved out of the youth programs and are making the transition into more responsible positions and activities suited to young adults and their young families. In addition to participating in general Temple activities, they conduct outings, dinners, other socials and fund raising for scholarship awards and special projects.

YOUNG BUDDHIST ASSOCIATION:
This group has been an on-going program for youths since the early years of our Temple. It comprises young persons in high school and college. It is affiliated with the Western YBL and participates in all activities (religious, athletic and social) on both the national and district levels. Locally, in addition to participation in our Temple activities, it has conducted senior citizens benefit programs.

SANGHA CLUB:
This group comprises seventh and eighth graders. Its activities include retreats, trips parents day programs, as well as Dharma School and other Temple activities.

ATHLETIC ORGANIZATION:
The purpose of this organization is to provide its members with an opportunity to participate in organized athletic programs and to develop athletically and spiritually through spirit of sportsmanship and harmony, based or the Teachings of the Buddha.’

DHARMA SCHOOL:
The primary purpose of a religious grout is the proper religious education of its members Sunday services and classes are conducted foe pre-schoolers thru senior adults. Class sessions for Dharma school pre-schoolers thru high school run from September to mid-June.

STOCKTON BUKKYO TAIKO:
Under the direction of the Temple minister, taiko is a medium to understand the self and the Buddha-Dharma. Making taikos, work shops with other groups, weekly practices, exercise, fun and performing are all part of the program. This program is open to anyone interested in Buddhist Taiko regardless of age a ability.

TOMO-NO-KAI:
The purpose of this organization is to provide a program of mutual benefit and welfare for the senior citizens.
